It is known as Madhubani art because it is created in the Mithila area of Nepal and Bihar. These paintings, which are often described by various geometric patterns, are recognized for depicting ritual content for specific occasions such as festivals, religious rituals, and so on.
Madhubani paintings originally came in Bihar’s Mithila region. Among the earliest references to Madhubani paintings could be found in the Hindu epic Ramayana. The understanding was passed down from generation to generation, and the paintings began to adorn the region’s homes.
Around hundred trees were painted in the Madhubani fashion in (2012). ShashthiNathJha, came up with this strategy to save trees that had been cut down to broaden roads. This proved to be an efficient method of raising villagers’ awareness of the effects of global warming and climate change.
Madhubani paintings slowly had become a part of celebrations and special events such as weddings. As several contemporary Indian painters took the art to a world stage, it gradually attracted art enthusiasts.
